Dear Members and Guests,
My theme for 2015-2017 is “People, Plants and Projects”
Our most cherished assets in AFGC are the wonderful people we are so fortunate to call our members. We must excite and involve the ones we have and encourage new members with new talents and ideas to join our ranks.
As Arizona residents we can play an immense role in the increased use of low water use plants, as well as encourage good gardening practices and design. We are perfect choices
for helping create and maintain public areas that
demonstrate these applications.
I want to support projects at the State level that will invite the participation of many members. National Garden Clubs is extending two projects that are near and dear to many of our members, Crown Bees and the Monarch Watch Program. The NGC President’s Special Projects committee has exciting tools to help clubs be successful with projects for bees, butterflies, frogs, and leadership development. At the same time, I want to offer my assistance to any club contemplating any new project. Smaller clubs may want to join hands in creating a memorial project. The possibilities are endless with a little vision.
My hope is that the next two years are filled with fun activities, great new projects and enthusiasm galore. I appreciate the opportunity to serve as President of AFGC and look forward to the future.
