Cerbat Garden Club is a small group of community volunteers in Kingman, AZ, who have, for the past 20 years, become more and more involved in local gardening education, civic beautification, tree planting, recycling, conservation efforts, school programs, and improving the quality of life in the high desert. We are involved, busy, cheerful, caring gardeners who work hard and have fun!

Cerbat Garden Club holds monthly meetings with educational programs. Our members work
with area Master Gardeners, Mohave County Extension Office, City of Kingman, Clean City
Commission, local school districts, area nursing homes and shelters, and other non-profit
groups on civic beautification, gardening education, and conservation projects.

We participate in local, state, regional, and national gardening events. The club regularly supports reforestation plantings through Penny Pines donations, with 36 donations made over 19 years.

Members share plants, gardening tips and advice. Our members are also encouraged to recycle and conserve water in their personal gardens.

During the 2023-24 season, our club members supported our local community through garden and horticulture therapy. We have a “Green Team” who promotes the Old Mohave County
Public Works Department’s hosting of a hazardous waste collection day for the local community.
Club members watered and maintained planters along historic Beale Street. We also
restored gardens at the Bonelli House.

In September, 2023, Cerbat Garden Club hosted a judged horticulture show at the Mohave County Fair. We took in horticulture entries and awarded ribbons. The show was open to the public for viewing and to learn more about gardening.

On Arbor Day, 2024, members hosted an education program for 5th grade classes, including a poster contest. All students received a tree sapling to plant that day. Local sponsors helped fund awards and trees to support the event.

In May, 2024, our club sponsored and installed an NGC Blue Star Memorial Marker
honoring men and women who served and are serving in the military armed forces.

Members enjoy socializing together and sharing refreshments at each meeting. We get together for a Gardener’s Day Out every month where our group visits pottery shops, plant nurseries, antique shops, tea shops, and much more. We invite guests to come visit us during our regular meetings.

We had a busy and enjoyable year and look forward to beginning again in September.
