Arizona Awards for Clubs, Members, and Youth
AFGC Awards Program
Awards are given to Members. Clubs and Districts in honor of their general and /or specific contributions to the Arizona Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. (AFGC) in the past year (generally May through March). The AFGC Awards are consistent with the Awards Program of our parent organization National Garden Clubs, Inc., to stimulate and encourage good gardening practices.
AFGC Awards are also given to Arizona Youths based on their affiliation with AFGC Clubs and Districts.
All AFGC Awards are presented at the AFGC Spring Meeting or Convention in odd-numbered years. Awards may be in the form of certificates, money, a trophy (Doris Helvig), and/or a trip to Washington, DC (Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl Poster Contest). Additionally, Awards may be presented at District Meetings. Award Submission Materials may be displayed at these meetings to honor the Award Recipients. Recipients or their appointees are expected to remove their materials at the end of the meeting.

Based on the respective rules of these organizations, AFGC First Place winners’ applications may be submitted to either or both of the following:
