Is your garden club interested in receiving a $500 grant to help present an educational program about native plants and wildflowers? The public is always interested in learning more about native plants and how to grow them and you might get a few new members.

These NGC grants allow garden clubs throughout the U.S. to provide information to the public about native plants. The application to apply for a grant is found on the NGC website under “Awards and Grants”.

What to include in your program:

  1. One or more topics about native plants, endangered species, plants for butterflies, plants for special habitats, or invasive species.
  2. Have a public planting of wildflowers along a state highway, rest area, or other public location.
  3. Grow wildflowers as part of the program.

How to Apply:

  1. At least 2 months before your event, send two copies of the tentative program and a copy of your proposed budget to: Wildflower Grants Chairman C. Woods, 17535 Santa Maria Dr., Eagle River, AK 99577-7533.
  2. If your grant is approved, ½ of the grant funds requested will be sent by NGC to your club.
  3. At the conclusion of your program, within 2 months, send a short report, including a financial statement and the number of people in attendance to the Wildflower Grants Chairman. Also, send two copies of the final program and any other photos or publicity you have.

Why not add a native plants program to your calendar of events for 2025 and apply for an NGC Wildflower Grant?
