NGC PLANT AMERICA

NGC PLANT AMERICA provides grants to help fund gardening projects in public spaces. An extensive explanation is available on PLANTAMERICA.ORG.

Since 2017, AFGC clubs have received more than $2000 in PLANT AMERICA grants for gardening and beautification projects. For example, Tempe Garden Club received a PLANT AMERICA in 2026 to assist in funding a sensory garden in Tempe’s Clark Park Community Garden. The project transformed an unsightly mulch pile into a garden containing seven themed plots, two trellises, a bench, and an ADA-compliant path. Dozens of club members, community garden members, college students and others from the community helped bring the garden to life in time to celebrate Tempe Garden Club’s 90th Anniversary in October 2026.

Sedona Area Garden Club also received a PLANT AMERICA grant in 2026 as part of NGC President Donna Donnelly’s efforts to decorate Blue Star Memorial (BSM) and Gold Star Memorial (GSM) markers across the U.S. with red, white and blue to celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary. In addition to planting flowers in patriotic colors, SAGC renovated the area around its BSM with a self-watering system that kept the plants thriving through the long Arizona summer.
