AFGC welcomes 2025-27 National Garden Clubs president, Donna Donnelly! Her theme, “Plant America for the Next 100 Years”, encourages NGC garden clubs and gardeners to beautify America for generations to come.
Since 2017, “Plant America” has been an NGC program that has encouraged NGC garden clubs to beautify public areas and build community gardens to help educate the public about the benefits gardening offers. NGC grants are awarded up to $2,000. (page 3 in the AFGC Blog gives information about Plant America grants.)
Besides planting public areas, Donna encourages NGC members to plant their own patriotic gardens using red, white and blue flowers to celebrate America’s 250th birthday in 2026.
Whether you plant a flower bed or containers filled with patriotic flowering plants, help school children plant vegetables, or fund trees and shrubs to beautify a park in your town, your efforts to Plant America will have a positive impact on the environment.
