To reach the goal of $50,000 donated to Plant America by July 4, more donations are needed. Currently $45,856 has been donated. Plant America was established in 2017, guided by former NGC President Nancy Hargroves. The program helps foster sustainability and environmental stewardship by providing grants to garden clubs for projects that support youth gardening, community gardens, beautification and/or restoration projects, landscape projects and horticulture or environmental education events for the public. Grants up to $2,000 have been given to NGC garden clubs, with more than 250 grants awarded.
