Town of Patagonia dedicated a Blue Star Memorial Marker on July 4th, 2026, at Doc Mock Park. AFGC State President Jennifer Moreland, BSM Chairman Carol Parrott, Gold Canyon GC President Kathie Henderson, and AFGC Southern District Director Ann Krsiean attended the dedication in Patagonia.
Murphy Musick spearheaded the project, coordinating fundraising and envisioning the monument as both a lasting tribute to past and future veterans and an educational resource for schools and youth. The ceremony involved local dignitaries, including Patagonia Council member Steve Finch, retired service members, and U.S. Representative Adelita Grijalva.
Following the dedication a reception with refreshments was hosted by the Patagonia Community Garden members led by Ann Rodriguez, with help from board members Julie Underwood, Janie Hartline, and Raub Owens. AFGC is excited to be working with the Patagonia Community Garden toward becoming a federated club. AFGC Southern District Director Ann Krsiean is assisting them through this process.
The Patagonia Regional Times covered the dedication, which you can read at this website:
